The BACKStrings instruments

The purpose of the "BackStrings" is to present the (Lute, Kanoun, Riqq and Darbouka in particular) these Middle Eastern instruments and expose them to a larger public to whome these instruments are still unknown, within the most faithful framework to their historical portrait.  Indeed, the challenge to take up is to prove the versatility of these instruments and the possibility of playing several styles of which Jazz and the traditional one in addition to the Eastern traditional music.  The latter is becoming increasingly popular throughout the world (sometimes amalgamated with other styles and contemporary music), but the characteristics of "BackStrings" is based on the fact that it is one of the very rare bands in North America which plays this old traditional style (almost abandoned) while modernizing certain parts without harming their original composition.
